The High Performance Homes
Seacoast Cottages are High Performance Homes for Demanding Coastal Climates. Seacoast Cottages are energy efficient, hurricane resistant, termite resistant,  mold resistant, less wasteful, and need less maintenance.

“Seacoast Cottage Company exemplifies how traditional Caribbean-style architecture has been inherently energy efficient. Developed for hot, humid climates this style of home exceeds expectations ...”

Drew Smith, founding President of the Florida Green Building Coalition and President of Two Trails Green Consulting Group

Energy Efficient - Lower Electrical Costs By 30% TO 70%
Homeowners living comfortably in a completed Seacoast Cottage can expect their electric power bills to fall by at least 30% and as much as 70%, compared to the energy costs of a comparable, traditionally constructed home. Seacoast Cottages have earned the Energy Star Partner designation from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for meeting its strict energy guidelines.

Extraordinary Insulation
The Seacoast Cottage wall panel construction, consisting of a polystyrene sandwich, has an insulating value of R-24 and the ceiling panels, R-30. The system places heating and air conditioning ductwork inside climate-controlled space, minimizing energy loss. This extraordinary insulating power is what keeps energy costs low.

Hurricane Resistant: Lab-Certified
The super-strong envelope creates the ideal foundation for a storm-resistant dwelling. The Seacoast Cottage Company building components have been tested in South Florida materials testing laboratories in winds up to 200mph. Seacoast Cottage products are subjected to a stringent on going quality assurance program to assure the highest quality in the industry.

Termite Resistant / Mold Resistant
Very little wood is used in the construction of a Seacoast Cottage envelope; primary components are made of polystyrene, and Advantech sheathing. These materials do not attract termites or foster the growth of mold, and none of the materials off-gas into the building envelope.

Less Waste = Less Cost
All components of the building envelope are manufactured in a climate-controlled warehouse and shipped to your job site. Since the shell is erected in just a matter of days, by just a few workers, you save on labor and equipment costs. All components are factory built with window and door openings cut to size, minimizing construction waste. There is no need for a dumpster rental during shell erection, as very little waste is hauled to local landfills. This is also a huge benefit when building in the islands where waste removal is costly and difficult.

Caribbean Cottage Design: Inherently Energy Efficient
Our traditional Caribbean style architecture includes deep porches which eliminate direct sunlight from heating up the exterior walls of your home. This allows your home to stay naturally cooler. Windows and French doors are strategically placed to allow a cross breeze to flow through the home - allowing you to turn off the air conditioner and enjoy seasonal temperatures.

Maximum Heat Reflectivity
We use White, Kynar "cool roof" paint on a stand-in-seam roof. A cool metal roof with high solar reflectance and high thermal emittance has a lower surface temperature as compared to a roof with low reflectance and low emittance. This means a lower surface temperature, and less heat gain into the living space below the roof. The result is a cooler building and lower cooling/heating energy usage.

Low Maintenance / Added Security Classic Caribbean Style Shutters
Our fully functional, Board and Batten shutters offer a classic Caribbean style; designed without spacing between the boards for maximum durability and added security from storms. These shutters are manufactured for a no-rot, hingeable shutter that requires virtually no maintenance. Unlike vinyl shutters, which cannot be hinged, and unlike wood shutters which show signs of rot after just a few years, these shutters will stand the test of time.

Low Maintenance, Stain Resistant Decking
Seacoast Cottage finish package specifies the use of AZEK Decking, made of cellular pvc, and engineered to virtually eliminate all the shortfalls associated with today’s decking materials. AZEK Decks are mold resistant, since the cellular pvc formulation doesn’t contain wood fibers which promote mold and mildew growth. Their strong, dense surface resists scratches from screws, tools and other gear during installation, so you can work with less worry. After installation, AZEK Deck resists damage from everyday things like lawn furniture, dog claws and general traffic wear patterns - keeping your investment maintenance free for generations to come.

Hurricane Ready Windows and Doors
Hurricane rated, impact-resistant windows and doors provide your home with effortless, full-time protection against flying debris and hurricane-force winds. Eliminating the need for inconvenient, unsightly storm panels, accordion or roll down shutters, plywood or other hurricane protection devices. Additionally, they reduce noise and provide UV protection. Our selection of low-glare windows and doors are turtle friendly. A responsible (and often required) consideration when building on the coast.
