The Banyan Cottage
At 3,416 square feet under roof, with 4 bedrooms and 3 baths - like its namesake, the BANYAN COTTAGE casts a big shadow.

Banyan Cottage

The house is perfect for single family lots or for off grid sites. Every aspect of its design balances the elements you want in your home, against those that detract from your overall comfort. The BANYAN HOUSE was designed to reflect the Caribbean during the Colonial Period with innovation and technology utilized where appropriate to accommodate today's codes and structural requirements.

The plan has 2,324 sq. ft. of interior living space with another 1,092 sq. ft. of porch that wraps completely around the house, keeping exterior walls and the outdoor living space cool. Windows and doors have been aligned where ever possible to make use of prevailing breezes. The porches, tall windows, and French doors allow pedestrian movement and flow of air in and out of the house. Hurricane rated windows, doors and shutters protect when the weather turns. The use of high ceilings and fans along with new technology in insulation help to keep you comfortable while keeping your energy costs low.

The Cottage interior also blends technological advances with tradition. While using wall panels with superior insulation, we finish the interior walls with wood tongue and groove wainscoting and board and batten panels. We use wood and tile floors for ease of care and durability. The hardware, plumbing, and lighting evoke, classic traditions found in coastal areas.
