Structural Insulated Panels (SIPS) give the homes strength against hurricanes without sacrificing character. They provide superior insulating value (R-values of 22 - 25), sound absorption and wall strength (6 - 10 times stronger than 2x4 construction). An added benefit of building with SIPs is there is minimal waste. Not only is this good for the environment, it is a huge benefit when building in the islands where waste removal is costly and difficult.
